"Bagel Inn", Acrylic on Canvas, May 2026
While waiting for my breakfast at the Bagel Inn in Holden, MA, I liked the composition of the restaurant looking towards the window, so I snapped a photo. One day I decided to make the painting, but at the same time felt the overwhelming need to give the finished product to the owners if the painting didn't totally suck. I dropped it off to them this morning (the owners were out back so I stealthily ordered then gave it to a young man behind the counter and just said it was a gift for them, if he could deliver). I was in my car escaping before they got it, which is better. Less awkward. Want to feel like an imposter in your art, do something like this. It's probably not anywhere near as good as I think it might be. We're so insecure in this business of creating shit.
