"Blueberries for Sal (and Margot)", Acrylic on Canvas, Finished January 2026

I made this for Amanda and Joel for Christmas last month but hadn't finished in time for actual Christmas.  It's primarily from an awesome photo of the family picking blueberries - one of Salem's favorite books is Blueberries for Sal since Sal loves picking blueberries with Mom and Dad, and in this picture her baby sister is seen in Mom's belly. Worked out the kinks in January - my biggest hurdle was Amanda in the left, proportions were wrong, she seemed too cartoony vs impressionistic as I was going for (and, also, wanted to make sure her belly was still seen here because baby Margot is in there!). I erased (painted over) Amanda and re-did her completely, to keep myself from making the same mistakes. I think that worked.
